Woman branded witch, tortured
MAHOTTARI, June 24
A woman was physically assaulted at Simardahi-9 in Mahottari district on Tuesday on the charge of practicing witchcraft.
Sabina Khatun was thrashed by her brother-in-law Jailam Khatun and sister-in-law Amina Khatun. She received injuries on her body as she was attacked with sticks and an axe.
Khatun couple accused Sabina of casting black magic on their buffalo after it stopped giving milk. Injured Sabina was undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Jaleshwor. Sabina’s husband is in Saudi Arabia in course of overseas employment. RSS
