Cabinet Okays recruitment of temporary police for polls



Kathmandu, April 11: The government has given a nod for the recruitment of 75,000 temporary police personnel for the local level polls.
A meeting of the council of ministers held Tuesday took a decision to this effect, according to the Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki.
Likewise, the cabinet meeting decided to provide Rs 1 million in compensation to the family of Inar Yadav who was killed in Rajbiraj incident. Furthermore, the meeting decided to provide Rs 1 million in compensation to the family of Basudev Sah who was killed in the firing of Indian army, Minister Karki added.
Similarly, the cabinet decided to give up to Rs 1.5 million for the residents of rural areas and Rs 2.5 million to the city dwellers in subsidy to the folks of Bhojpur and Tehrathum districts who suffered losses in the separate cases of inferno.
Minister Karki said that decision has been made to provide relief to the victims of fire incidents in Dalit settlement in Siraha.
The cabinet meeting has also given right to the Counsel General of Lhasa, Govinda Bahadur Karki, to sign the assistance letter with the Government of China for the building construction of Consulate General of Nepal, Lhasa, China.
The government also approved the Caste Discrimination (Crime and Punishment) Regulations, 2073 and approved the Bill on Local Level Governance to send to the Legislature-Parliament.
Moreover, the meeting of the council of ministers provided approval to send the Bill on Health Insurance to the Legislature-Parliament. Likewise, the meeting has given approval to the Nepal Army to purchase the aircraft. RSS
