RPP quits government
Kathmandu, May 1: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has decided to quit the government, expressing its dissatisfaction and disagreement over the impeachment motion registered against Chief Justice Sushila Karki. Ruling Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) on Sunday had registered the motion against CJ Karki.
The meeting of the party’s working execution committee decided to quit the government, stand against the impeachment motion but to vote in favour of constitution amendment bill.
According to central member of the party Rajaram Shrestha, party will play effective role to ensure local polls.
He added that the meeting has further decided to seek clarification from lawmakers Ram Kumar Subba, Biraj Bista and Resham Lama as they were absent in the party’s parliamentary party meeting on Sunday.
There are 37 lawmakers from the party and chair Kamal Thapa, leaders Bikram Pandey, Dil Nath Giri and Parshuram Tamang were the ministers in the incumbent government. RSS
