Counting of votes underway in 243 local-level units

Kathmandu, May 14: Counting of votes is currently taking place in a total of 243 local level units among the 289 units where the first phase of elections took place on Sunday. Two units have had unanimous victory.
According to the Election Commission, counting of votes is underway in 110 units in province no. 3, 79 in province no. 4 and 54 in province no. 6. Preparations are underway to begin counting the votes in the remaining 38 units. Ballots boxes are yet to reach the office of the chief returning officer in six units of Humla and one of Rukum due to geographical remoteness.
Meanwhile, results are coming in from local units with relatively low number of voters.
