TU campuses to remain close on Friday

Kathmandu, March 15 (RSS): The Tribhuvan University (TU) has announced to close all its campuses on Friday to mourn the demise of former Vice Chancellor Dr Govinda Sharma.

Former Vice Chancellor Sharma’s body was brought to Kathmandu from Russia on Thursday and a condolence meeting was held at TU Memorial Building.

TU Registrar Dilliram Upreti said that Friday is declared holiday but the preannounced programmes of the examinations would remain unchanged.

Sharma had served as the VC of TU in 2003. He passed away at a hospital in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Wednesday night.
