Lightning kills two in Sunsari

Two persons of a single family were killed by lightning strike at Kaptangunj-6 in the district today morning.

Mohari Devi Sardar, 55, and her seven-year-old granddaughter Chadani were in staying in the kitchen of their house when the incident occurred, police said.

Both died on the spot. Meanwhile, Sardar’s grandson Sanjib Kumar Sardar was injured in the incident, police said.

In another incident in the district, a man drowned in a local canal in Narsingh-9 in Sunsari. Police recovered the body of a 45-year-old Dilip Kumar Urau of Paschim Kushaha on Wednesday, local people said. Police said they are investigating into the matter. RSS
