NAC to purchase two wide body aircrafts



Kathmandu, April 7: The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has decided to purchase two Wide Body A 330-220 aircrafts.

The NAC and American Company AAR signed a deal to this effect on Friday in the capital. General Manager of NAC Sugatratna Kansakar and Chief of AAR Dipak Sharma signed the agreement paper.

As per the deal, both the aircrafts will land in Kathmandu by May 2018, Kansakar told RSS. The NAC is investing 209.6 million US Dollars for the purchase of the two aircrafts.

General Manager Kansakar said that this is the first time in the NAC history that it was procuring the aircrafts by spending such a huge amount of money.

The aircraft under procurement process is at Toulouse city of France. It has total 280 seats including 16 business class seats.

The NAC would take off international flights through five aircrafts with the addition of two new wide body planes.
Currently the NAC is offering air services to different eight destinations through a Boeing and two airbuses
According to general manager Kansakar, the new airbus is of long range which can take off straight flights to the UK from Nepal.

The new airbus can offer air services to the passngers to and from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Saudi Arab, among others, he informed.
