Vote count at Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolis- 17 halted
Pokhara, May 20: Vote count at the ward number 17 of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City has remained halted since this afternoon following a dispute over the size of the Swastik stamp put on some ballot papers.
The vote count was halted after the Nepali Congress representatives left the counting centre citing that the size of the Swastik stamp put on some ballot papers cast in favour of the CPN (UML), is comparatively wider than the normal stamp size.
Though the District Election Office, Kaski called an all-party meeting to sort out the dispute, no agreement was forged so far to resume the vote count, according to NC, Kaski President Krishna KC.
“The size of the Swastik stamp put on the Sun, the election symbol of the UML, in some of the ballot papers seems relatively wider than the usual,” he added.
