Prez Bhandari urges political parties to form consensus govt.

Kathmandu, May 25: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has made a call to the political parties to form a consensus government.
President Bhandari on Thursday made such call to elect a new prime minister after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ tendered his resignation from his post on Wednesday.
The President urged this as per the provision of holding election to the post of the Prime Minister on the basis of consensus within a week as per the Article 298 (b) of the constitution, said Mohan Prasad Wagle, Spokesperson at the Office of the President.
President Bhandari urged the political parties to elect the new PM on the basis of consensus by June 2. There is a constitutional provision that a majority process would be forwarded if consensus was not forged in this regard. RSS
