President, PM extend condolence messages to Bangladesh
Kathmandu, June 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today sent separate messages of condolences to President of Bangladesh, Md. Abdul Hamid, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, respectively on the loss of lives in southeast Bangladesh due to heavy monsoon rains and landslides in recent days.
Issuing a press statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the President and the PM have, on behalf of the Government and people of Nepal as well as on their own, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to their respective Bangladeshi counterparts, and through them, to the government and the friendly people of Bangladesh and the bereaved and affected families.
They have also wished speedy recovery of those injured in the disaster and early return of the situation to normalcy.
