Election candidate dies

Urlabari (Morang), June 22: A candidate for the second round of local-level election died in the district this morning.

Matrika Prasad Bhandari, 56, of Letang Municipality-6 in Morang district, who was the Nepali Congress candidate for the post of member from open quota of ward no 6 of Letang Municipality, died due to heart-related disease.

Bhandari, who was suffering from health problems for the past few days in course of door-to-door election campaign, died on the way to home after the treatment from Damak of Jhapa district, said Jung Tamang, NC Chairman candidate of the same ward. He is survived by wife, three sons and a daughter.
