Revenue officials caught red-handed



Kathmandu, June 23: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested revenue investigation officials in course of taking bribe from service recipients.
The anti-graft body arrested Bhim Prasad Ghimire, an investigation official with the Revenue Investigation Mid – West and Far – West Regional Office Kohalpur, Banke and computer operator, Govinda Bahadur Shahi, according to CIAA Spokesperson Jeevraj Koirala.
They had sought the kickbacks under the pretext of waiving the value – added tax (VAT) for concerned entrepreneurs. A team sent from the CIAA office in Kohalpur arrested the two officials with Rs 570,000 in cash from their office.
They asked for money to tamper and fix the tax and related documents seized from businessmen. RSS
